Have you ever heard of the “DETOUR” series?
These six episodes were filmed late in 2016 and early 2017 as a “test” series. Originally filmed for YouTube, they were a bridge between Episode 1 and Episode 2 of "My American Journey". Video footage used in the "Squirrel Fish'n" episodes (Detour episodes 4 and 5) were later incorporated in the “Living the Dream” episode of My American Journey. The Detour series was filmed and edited on a much lighter budget and used equipment that was easier to transport, thus the quality of these episodes were more in line with short-form "vlogs" popular on YouTube and Social Media at the time.
